December 12 Newsletter

We finished reading Around the Pond and are working on vocabulary and comprehension for The Polar Express.  We’re excited for our Polar Express Day on Thursday.  We filled our whole marble jar to earn it!

We are finishing our unit on two-digit addition with regrouping.  We like playing “Base Block Addition” on our blog, mrsadams2.blogspot.com.  It’s under the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives.  Any practice can count for math homework in the planner.

We are finishing our citizenship unit this week.  We have been reading Christmas books and doing fun activities and crafts.  We’ve enjoyed hearing the tradition reports each day in class.

We had a great time making Christmas trees with our buddy class on Friday.

Our stars of the week have been Mason and Chloe.  We’ve enjoyed getting to know them better!

Book orders are due on Friday, December 16.  I will extend it a couple days if you want to order online.  The books will be here when we get back from break.  We have earned several free books for our classroom.  Online orders get us even more free books!

I am so thankful for our parent helpers who volunteer their time in and out of the classroom.  It means so much to me and to the kids.

Thank you for your support, and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Have a great winter break!
