Newsletter 6-8-18

Cowboy week was a lot of fun!  We read about cowboys, wrote about them, and finished off the week with an art project.

Everyone had a great time on water day.  Some of us were soaked!  Thank you, PTA!

Congratulations to Amer for passing off Reflex Math!

Ellie earned our citizenship award for honesty.  Nice job!

Here is a picture from our Ugly Duckling performance.  All the students did an amazing job!

Thanks again to all of the parents and grandparents who helped in class and at home this year.  We all appreciate you so much!

Here are some ideas to help your children keep their skills sharp over the summer:
  •     Read every day!  Join the library summer reading program.  Have your parents ask you comprehension questions.
  •     Check online or at the library to find other places that      will reward your reading.  The governor's office, the Utah State Fair, Barnes & Noble, and several restaurants have programs.
  •     Keep using Reflex Math regularly.
  •     Keep using Reading Plus regularly.
  •     Pick up a summer bridge book.  Do a couple pages each day.
  •     Write every day.  Keep a daily journal, a weekend journal, or a vacation journal.  Make a scrapbook, and write captions for the pictures.
  •     Pay for items with cash, and count the change.
  •     Look for shapes around you.  See if you can name the shape and count the sides, angles, vertices, faces, and  edges.
It's been a great year!  Enjoy your summer!
