Newsletter 6-1-15

We’re reviewing unit six this week.  We’ve had fun reading stories like Just Like Josh Gibson, Cowboys, and Grace for President.

We’ve learned a lot of American history in our language arts and social studies units.  We’ve also learned some Utah history and symbols.

We just finished our math unit on telling time and graphing.  Please continue to practice telling time over the summer.  This week we’re practicing third-grade math, such as multiplication and division.

We have had some fabulous art lessons taught by Mrs. James.  We were inspired by Grant Wood's farm pictures.

RAD Kids was such a terrific learning experience for our children.  They really grew that week, and it was exciting to see their confidence at the program on Friday.  Thanks for supporting them!

Our field trip to the aquarium was so exciting!  We saw all sorts of interesting sea animals, and we got to have a special class about the blue whale.  Ask your child what they learned!  Thank you to our mom helpers who went with us that day.

Thank you to all the families who donated money for the fun run.  We had six of our students bring over $100, including Trinity, who brought over $500.  She got to help make the principal into an ice cream sundae!  We earned all sorts of fun things like crazy hair day, pajama day, and field day.

May reading calendars are due this week.  There is no homework.

I've loved teaching your children this year.  They are a wonderful group, and I am going to miss them.  Thank you for all your support this year.  Have a wonderful summer!
