Halloween Fun

October was a fun month at school!  We had special songs and activities, and it was over before we knew it.

We made spooky Halloween art projects this month.

We are studying place value in math.  Our next unit is money, so it would be great if you could start practicing counting money at home.  There are money lessons and games on this blog.

Our Kids' College goals have been reduced.  Students are asked to do twenty-five minutes a week, making the goal one hundred minutes per month.  They are welcome to do more than that, but they need at least that many minutes to get the PTA prize.  Our login is KCC63296.

We had a great Red Ribbon Week!  We wore slippers, boots, crazy socks, and sunglasses.  This is a picture of us wearing red on the last day.  We are holding up skeletons that we made with our buddy class.

In language arts, we read an amazing dog story called Tara and Tiree, Fearless Friends, by Andrew Clements.  We also read Abraham Lincoln, by Delores Malone.  We are studying common and proper nouns.

We had a terrific Halloween party!  Everyone looked so good in their costumes.  Our room mothers made fun centers with crafts, games, and stories for the kids.  Thank you to Mrs. Snaufer, Mrs. Schnabel, Mrs. Hollberg, Mrs. Johnson, and Mrs. Mogenson.

I look forward to seeing you at parent teacher conferences next week.  Thanks for all you do for our class.  Your kids are wonderful!
