We started our fourth unit in Reading Streets with the story A Froggy Fable. We are working on -le words, adjectives and drawing conclusions.
Halfway through the year, our language arts program starts looking more like the third-grade program, which means that there is a greater emphasis on vocabulary. In the homework packet this week, there is now a vocabulary sheet with definitions . Please help your child learn these definitions for the test we will be having on the last day of each week. This will be a matching test, so your child just needs to be able to fill in the correct word next to the definition. I explained all this to our class on Monday, and I showed them this week’s quiz.
We are finishing our math unit on money and time. Please continue to practice at home.
Our Valentine’s Day party will be Tuesday, February 14 at 12:20. Our fabulous room mothers are some fun activities for us that day.
We will decorate bags in class for our Valentines. Here is our class list if you decide to send Valentines with your child:

Thank you to everyone who signed up for parent-teacher conferences. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so as soon as possible. Let me know if you can't make it on either day, and we can make other arrangements.
There is no school for students this Friday.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting with you next week!
